The history of tie’s dates back to the 19th century when men used to wear kerchiefs around their necks as scarfs. These scarfs over the period of time have evolved to be the ties of today. What started off as a random accessory in early days , has now become an important element of the formal attire for men. Not to say, we also have bow type ties, festive ties and pocket squares which are accessorized with occasional wear .

Silk, is the most common fabric in which ties are available and these are mostly the luxury brands. The smooth texture and the impeccable appearance is what makes these more appealing. The variety of single and mixed colors in which these are available makes them the most chosen and can be matched with any type of shirts. Next in line of fondness would be the microfiber ties which are of a blended material and are more on the affordable range. The correct way of tying a tie also brings out the elegance and loveliness of it.

The light colored ties in stripes are more trendy this season and shades of pink, light blue and turquoise are the favorite lot. Pink and light blue ones have been in fashion for some time but it is turquoise, which is new on the fashion circuit and this goes excellently with a light colored shirt. The polka dotted ties by the french designers are also in vogue and these are very easy to match off with any colored shirt . Atkinsons, cavallieri, tino cosma and laco are some of the best branded ties. Be careful in the choice of ties as these should be worn to match the color and patterns of the shirt and the suit . A striped shirt and a striped tie do not quite match , opt for a plain tie on a striped shirt and a striped tie on a plain solid one. Ensure the end look is mostly of contrast or likeliness.
